It emerged from watching the consequences of decisions over many years—across different countries, cultures, industries, organisations and stages of life.
Long before AI became part of the picture.
AI accelerated what became possible. It did not create the question.
Why do intelligent people still make decisions that later become difficult to defend?
Not because they lacked intelligence.
Not because they lacked experience.
But because somewhere between analysis and commitment, something was being lost.
For years, I kept encountering the same pattern in different forms.
Then AI arrived.
For the first time, I realised that the tools were beginning to exist that could help examine decisions with a level of structure, discipline and consistency that had previously been difficult to achieve.
That became the foundation of the Decision Integrity System™.

DIS is not built around a single discipline. It is built around a single question:
How do we improve the integrity of consequential decisions before commitment is made?
Everything else is tested against that question.
If it strengthens decision integrity, it becomes part of DIS.
If it does not, it may remain useful or interesting—but it remains outside the framework.
DIS is still evolving.
Because the problem it exists to address is still evolving.
Every framework has a history. This one has a lived one.
